About Us
Hurricane Fire & Rescue is a distinguished combination fire department, dedicated to serving vibrant western Putnam County, West Virginia. Nestled between the metropolitan cities of Huntington and Charleston the department diligently protects a 98 square mile district housing over 25,000 people. The district is comprised of residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
Since our founding in 1908, we have steadfastly answered the “CALL” to serve and protect our community. With a rich history of service and a commitment to excellence, our members are rigorously trained to handle a variety of emergency situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of all Hurricane residents.
As we continue to grow and evolve, Hurricane Fire & Rescue remains committed to the ideals of community service, preparedness, and the volunteer spirit that have been our foundation for over a century.
